About the Library

The New Glarus Public Library was established in 1934 to serve the educational, cultural, and entertainment needs of the greater New Glarus area.   The library’s mission is to welcome and serve all people, providing them a comfortable place to gather, as well as the information and services needed to learn and better themselves, their families, and their communities.  In the pursuit of this end, we are continually exploring new ways in which we can provide educational opportunities, encourage creativity, promote connections within the community, celebrate heritage and culture, and support the entrepreneurs and artists of South Central Wisconsin and beyond.

New Glarus Public Library Strategic Plan

The New Glarus Public Library conducted an Environmental Scan with the help of community members in 2017-2018 in order to develop a Strategic Plan.  Thank you to all who participated in our Community Conversations and completed the Community Library Survey.  Your insights are appreciated.
